Mindful Eating
It's very common to eat without thinking too much about it. Sitting in front of TV with an array of snacks at hand, is a great setup for mindless eating. You watch your favorite show and mindlessly munch on whatever you can grab. This can be replaced by mindful eating, which means, being aware and conscious of every bite you take. Start by tossing the unhealthy snack foods. Then when you want to eat something, stop, breathe deeply at least five times and then have a fruit or another healthy snack. Another idea: eat in a relaxed environment. Turn off the TV, get away from the computer. Focus on your food!
